Semarang, February 19, 2025 – In an effort to encourage the growth of sharia businesses through the development of a halal value chain ecosystem based on Islamic boarding schools, a team from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University (FPP UNDIP) provided assistance in the development of halal food commodities at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School, Mijen, Semarang.
The FPP UNDIP team involved in this activity consisted of Dr. Ir. Cahya Setya Utama, S.Pt., M.Si, IPM; Prof. Ir. Bambang Sulistiyanto, S.Agr.Sc., Ph.D, IPU; Dr. Ir. Marry Christiyanto, M.P., IPM, and Fajrin Pramana Putra, S.P., M.Sc. The field assessment and identification activities were carried out on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, and were received directly by the head of the Islamic Boarding School, Dr. KH. Fadlolan Musyaffa’, Lc., MA, along with the Islamic boarding school management team.
As part of this assessment activity, the UNDIP FPP Team visited several productive business units in Islamic boarding schools, including Green House, Livestock Pens, Fish Farming, and Vegetable Cultivation Land. This activity aims to assess the potential and opportunities for halal-based economic development that can be implemented sustainably in Islamic boarding school environments.
This assistance received support from various parties, including the Bank Indonesia Team, Deputy Head of the Central Java Provincial Representative Office of KPwBI, Mrs. Andi Reina Sari H and the team who also attended this activity. With the collaboration between academics, Islamic boarding schools, and the financial sector, it is hoped that the development of the halal value chain ecosystem can be increasingly optimal and have a positive impact on the sharia-based economy in Indonesia.
This activity is the first step in building a halal business ecosystem that is integrated with sharia principles, while strengthening the role of Islamic boarding schools as centers for empowering the people’s economy.
