Semarang, April 15, 2026 – Diponegoro University’s Master of Animal Science (MAAS) continues to demonstrate its commitment to realizing its vision of becoming a World-Class University through various internationalization programs. One concrete step is establishing a partnership with the Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

This collaboration covers various crucial areas, from internship and student exchange programs, joint research and publications, staff and visiting professor exchanges, to joint supervision for postgraduate students. This synergy is expected to open new opportunities to improve academic quality and expand the reach of research at both institutions.

This initiative represents a strategic step for UNDIP’s MAAS in strengthening its global academic network, particularly in responding to current issues in the fields of sustainable animal husbandry and environmental sustainability.

The program was attended by international MAAS students from Pakistan, Zafar Inayat and Abdul Qaader Al Jailani. Abdul Qaader (Pakistan) said, “Alhamdulillah, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Malaysia for one week through a World Class University (WCU) Program, and I was honored to be selected by the faculty. During this tour, I gained valuable knowledge and hands-on learning experiences. We visited several important departments, including the Molecular Biology Department, the Black Soldier Fly Unit, and the Poultry Department. Each visit provided deep insights into modern research, innovation, and practical applications in animal science and agriculture.”

This collaboration between Diponegoro University and UPM Malaysia is expected to increase international publications, research quality, and the global reputation of both universities.
