The speed of getting a job, the amount of salary or income received and the suitability between the field of study pursued and the field of work one is involved in are important components that become the Main Performance Indicators (KPI) of a higher education institution. For study programs in higher education, these components must be given special attention because they can be used as material for evaluating the learning process being carried out by the study program. Currently, universities in Indonesia usually conduct tracer studies on alumni or graduates, especially alumni who have graduated in the last two years.

Definitively, tracer study is tracking the footsteps of graduates or alumni carried out on alumni after graduation. This activity aims to determine educational outcomes in the form of transition from the world of higher education to the world of work. Apart from knowing educational outcomes, tracer study can also be a method used by several universities to obtain feedback from alumni. This feedback is very useful for the study program or university as evaluation material to further develop the learning system in the study program.

Diponegoro University recently held a three-day “Workshop Strengthening Tracer Study at Diponegoro University Semester 2 2023” at the Grand Wahid Hotel Salatiga. The activity took place from 26-28 October 2023 and was attended by the Head of the Study Program and Education Personnel (Tendik) at Diponegoro University, including the Head of the Animal Science Master’s Study Program and Tendik, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture. In this activity, tracers are carried out on study program alumni so that it is known how long it takes the alumni to get a job, the amount of income received and the suitability of the field of study with the field of work that the graduate is involved in.
