The curriculum is the plan, objectives and learning materials that will be delivered to students. Teaching methods are also a component contained in the curriculum which will serve as a guide for each lecturer so that they can achieve learning targets and objectives well. Along with developments in science, knowledge, technology, industry and the dynamics that occur in society, the curriculum in study programs also continues to change. All these changes are adjusted to the needs of students and stakeholders who will become partners and users of graduates of the study program.
On October 18 2023, a workshop was held to review the study program curriculum within the Department of Animal Husbandry, FPP UNDIP, including the Animal Science Master’s Study Program. The workshop took place at the FPP UNDIP Tembalang Campus for one full day attended by all study program stakeholders. At the curriculum workshop, Dr. Satriyo Krido Wahono (Head of the Food Process and Technology Research Center, National Research and Innovation Agency), Ruby Kustanto, S.Pt. (General Manager Poultry Integration Central Java, PT. Cemerlang Unggas Lestari), Ir. Ignasius Hariyanta Nugraha, M.Sc. (Central Java Province Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service and Chair of PW ISPI Central Java) and Suseno Bayu Wibowo, S.Pt., M.Sc. (owner of Jambul Domba Farm Pemalang, Central Java) as a resource person representing graduate users from research institutions, private companies, bureaucracy (Livestock Services) and livestock entrepreneurs. The workshop was attended by lecturers who taught Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral level courses in the Department of Animal Husbandry as well as student representatives from each study program. As moderator of the workshop activities was Prof. Mukh Arifin who is also a curriculum expert from FPP UNDIP.

The workshop activities discussed various things regarding the curriculum that has been implemented in the study program within the Department of Animal Husbandry FPP UNDIP so far, namely the independent curriculum (used since 2020). Various input and suggestions from stakeholders are then formulated and will be followed up by a small team formed by each study program. It is hoped that the workshop will produce a curriculum formulation that can produce alumni with competencies according to user needs.
