The speed of getting a job, the amount of salary or income received and the suitability between the field of study pursued and the field of work involved are several important components that become the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of a tertiary institution. For study programs in tertiary institutions, these components must be of particular concern because they can be used as material for evaluating the learning process that is being carried out by the study program. Currently, universities in Indonesia usually conduct tracer studies of alumni or graduates, especially alumni who have graduated in the last two years.

Definitively, a tracer study is a tracking of graduates or alumni that is carried out to alumni after graduation. This activity aims to determine educational outcomes in the form of a transition from the world of higher education to the world of work. Apart from knowing educational outcomes, tracer study can also be used as a method used by several universities to obtain feedback from alumni. This feedback is very useful for the study program or college as evaluation material to further develop the existing learning system in the study program.

Diponegoro University recently held a two-day “Trace Study Strengthening Workshop” at the Grand Mercure Solo Baru Hotel. The activity which took place from 15-17 June 2023 was attended by the Head of the Study Program at Diponegoro University, including the Head of the Master of Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture UNDIP. The activity was opened directly by the Chancellor of UNDIP Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. On this occasion, the Chancellor of UNDIP hoped that all Heads of Study Programs at UNDIP could trace their alumni so that it would be known how long the alumni had gotten jobs, the amount of income received and the suitability of the field of study with the field of work the graduate was in.
