Demak, Thursday, December 4, 2025 – The Master of Animal Husbandry Study Program at Diponegoro University Semarang conducted an industrial visit to PT Charoen Pokphand Plan Demak, one of the largest animal feed companies in Indonesia, as part of the Feed Industry course. This activity aimed to provide deeper insight into the animal feed industry and introduce the latest technology used in the animal feed production process at PT Charoen Pokphand Plan Demak.

The visit was attended by 10 Master of Animal Husbandry students and 1 accompanying lecturer. The activity began with a welcome speech from PT Charoen Pokphand Plan Demak delivered by Mr. Ngadi Purwanta, followed by a welcome speech by Mr. Dr. Ir. Marry Christiyanto, MP, IPM as a representative of the Master of Animal Husbandry Study Program, Diponegoro University, Semarang, then continued with an introduction to the company’s Company Profile through the screening of a profile video and a presentation of feed production material by Mr. Agus Trilaksono as the head of production of PT Charoen Pokphand Plan Demak. Students got a comprehensive overview of the production system, starting from receiving raw materials, mixing feed ingredients, to packaging the final product ready for distribution.

After the presentation, students were invited to tour the animal feed production area by Mr. Pranoto Adi. In this area, participants were able to observe firsthand the animal feed production process, from raw material receipt to feed production. During the field tour, students were also introduced to the application of technology throughout the production line. The technologies used include mobile corn dryers, barcode scanners for transport trucks, moisture testers and aflatoxin kit devices, hydraulic tilt machines, and robotic-based pelleting and packing technology.
“The industrial visit to PT Charoen Pokphand Plan Demak provided invaluable experience for us, as we were able to see firsthand how modern feed production is carried out in large quantities, reaching 80,000 tons per month, and the application of technology from raw material receipt to final product,” said Akhirudien, a Master of Animal Husbandry student.
