Field Work Lecture (KKL) is a form of learning activity outside the classroom that provides students with direct learning experiences in the community, industry or institutions that may not be found on campus. KKL activities are generally carried out by universities in an effort to improve the quality of education for students and to obtain greater added value in higher education. Through KKL, students are also expected to get a direct picture of the field of work and real conditions regarding the profession that they will be engaged in after graduating from college.
On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, a number of 36 students of the Master of Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture UNDIP, class of 2024/2025 carried out KKL activities in two locations, namely at PT Japfa Comfeed Tbk located in Sidoarjo, East Java and the Center for Veterinary Farma Pusvetma located in Surabaya, East Java. In addition to directly seeing the conditions and activities of Production and Quality Control at PT Japfa Comfeed, students were given a detailed explanation of the activities and business core of PT Japfa Comfeed by Mr. Anugerah Satria HRD and Mr. Supri from QC.
After leaving PT Japfa Comfeed, the KKL student group continued their journey to Surabaya heading directly to the Balai Besar Veteriner Farma Pusvetma. At the second location, the students who were accompanied by the Head of the Masters Program in Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University, Dr. Ir. Cahya Setya Utama, S. Pt., M.Si, IPM were received directly by the Head of the Balai Besar Veteriner Farma Pusvetma, Drh. Edy Budi Susila, M.Si. He explained the organizational structure, role and function of the Balai Besar Veteriner Farma Pusvetma which is structurally under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia. After receiving an explanation from the Head of the Center, the students were invited to tour the Laboratory, Product Sales Services and Product Quality Testing Services in the Balai Besar Veteriner Farma Pusvetma Surabaya area. In the future, KKL activities are expected to not only provide education outside the campus, but are also expected to open up opportunities for collaboration between study programs and institutions outside the campus.
