The Indonesia Research and Innovation Fair (IRIFair) activity was held on September 22 2023 by the Directorate of Talent Management, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). In this competition, one of the students of the Master of Animal Science Study Program, FPP UNDIP, Mawakia Anwar, was selected as one of the finalists and won favorite poster and runner up in the field of biology. The title of the invention that was contested and won the title of favorite poster and runner up in the biological field was “Design of a Sex Detector Based on Magnetic Field Values in Cow Foetus”.
Supervised by Dr. Daud Samsudewa (Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture UNDIP) and Dr. Jatmiko Endro Suseno (Faculty of Science and Mathematics UNDIP), this invention can detect the sex of a cow’s fetus while it is still pregnant.
Apart from receiving a certificate and coaching money, Mawakia Anwar was also awarded a scholarship to continue his studies at the doctoral level by BRIN. It is hoped that Mawakia Anwar’s achievements can be an encouragement and inspiration for other students at the UNDIP FPP Animal Science Master’s Study Program to achieve more in the future.
