The Animal Science Master’s study program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University has held an Entrepreneurship Lecture with the theme “Transforming Sciences into Entrepreneurship” on September 26 2023 online. This year’s Entrepreneurship Lecture invited Dr. Ir. H. Ahmad Sofyan, M.M. who is a professional entrepreneur who owns Balebat Farm (laying chicken farm). He is a graduate of the Animal Science Doctoral Program at Diponegoro University, Semarang. Apart from his experience as an entrepreneur, he is also active in assisting farmers in the national level Contact Farmer Fisherman Mainstay (KTNA) organization.
In his presentation, Dr. Ahmad Sofyan said that “Transforming Sciences into Entrepreneurship” or the transformation of science into entrepreneurship refers to the application of knowledge, findings and cutting-edge technology to create or develop products, services or business processes to make them more efficient, innovative, have a competitive and sustainable advantage.
Dr. Ahmad Sofyan, apart from delivering entrepreneurship lecture material, also had exciting discussions with master students at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University. He is also very willing to be a business mentor for students of the Master of Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University who are interested and want to start a business in the animal husbandry sector. With more than 30 years of business experience in the livestock sector, Dr. Ahmad Sofyan believes that the livestock sector is a business area that is still very promising for the millennial generation and Gen-Z in the future.
This entrepreneurship lecture activity was attended by all students of the Master of Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University and moderated by Prof. Sugiharto who is the Head of the Animal Science Master’s Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University. The lecture activity was opened by Dr. Limbang K. Nuswantara who is the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University.
