Currently, publications based on meta-analysis are very widespread by various researchers around the world, including researchers and lecturers from Indonesia. Meta-analysis itself is a statistical method that combines the results of various studies that have been conducted by previous researchers. Meta-analytic studies can provide a more comprehensive view of data on a particular topic by combining the results from various studies that have been conducted. This allows researchers to reach more solid conclusions and make more informed decisions based on the available data. Several steps need to be taken by researchers in conducting meta-analytic studies, including determining topics, collecting and selecting referenced journal manuscripts, tabulating and analyzing data from selected journal manuscripts and summarizing and interpreting the results of the analysis.

To equip and train students of the Master of Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, on 11-12 July 2023 a “Meta-analysis Workshop for Animal Husbandry Research” was held in the Multipurpose Room of The Faculty. The workshop which lasted for two days presented Dr. Mohammad Miftakhus Sholikin, a researcher from the Animal Science Research Center, Agricultural and Food Research Organization, National Research and Innovation Agency as a guest speaker. The workshop was attended by 60 participants who were not only students from the Masters of Animal Science Study Program, but also students from the Doctoral Animal Science Doctoral Study Program and also Lecturers in the DIponegoro University environment.

In his opening, Dr. Ir. Limbang Kustiawan Nuswantara, S.Pt., M.P., IPU. (Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Affairs of FPP UNDIP) said that this workshop is expected to be a milestone in learning meta-analysis which currently has not been done by many faculty students and lecturers. It is hoped that the collaboration between the Masters Program in Animal Science Diponegoro University and the Animal Science Research Center, Agricultural and Food Research Organizations, the National Research and Innovation Agency is also expected to continue to be developed to advance the two institutions.
